Paying in advance for your funeral will save you and your family money, time and effort. There are many benefits to taking out a pre-paid funeral plan. A pre-paid funeral plan protects you & your family against inflation and rising funeral costs. It also protects your loved ones by reducing the stress and financial burden of arranging a funeral.
Below are the answers to a few of the most commonly asked questions about our pre-paid funeral plans:
What is covered by my plan?
Most funeral plans will guarantee to cover the costs of funeral directors services with the addition of 3rd party fees, but this will depend on the plan you have selected. With our plans, your loved ones will have the reassurance of a traditional, dignified, ceremony, with no compromise on usual levels of care and attention to detail.
Take a look at our different plans to find out the details of what’s included in our pre-paid funeral plans.
How secure is my money?
It is of paramount importance to us that our customers’ investments are safe and secure. In line with other funeral plan companies, the money you pay in is held in a trust fund managed by professional trustees. Over time this money grows, ensuring that however long you live, there will always be sufficient money within the fund to cover the cost of the funeral director’s fees and services.
Is the funeral plan guaranteed?
Regardless of the cost of the funeral in years to come, the plan guarantees to cover the cost of funeral directors fees and services. Whilst our funeral plans guarantee there won’t be anything extra to pay towards the funeral directors fees and services, when the Planholder dies there may be additional costs to pay towards disbursements (also called 3rd party fees).
The Pearl, Sapphire, and Ruby options all include a £1,200 allowance to cover the following 3 disbursements specifically:
- Cremation Fee (or interment fee, if burial)
- Doctor’s fee
- Minister’s/Celebrant’s Fee for service at the crematorium (or graveside, if burial).
What level of service will be received?
We aim to ensure the process of arranging your funeral is as simple as possible for your loved ones so all your family needs to do is make one phone call, and then everything is taken care of as per your plan and your wishes.
How flexible are the plans? (What happens if I want to move out of the area or want to transfer the plan to someone else?)
Our plans are all very flexible so it doesn’t matter if you move house or want to transfer the plan. Provided the new location you move to is within the UK, then your funeral plan will not be affected. Our plans can also be transferred into the name of an alternative person. To do so, the plan purchaser needs to contact the plan provider (Safe Hands Funeral Plans) directly, who will then make the necessary alteration.
